i did a post earlier this week about painting my guest room furniture. since the dressing table had previously been my husband’s computer table, we had been using an ugly rolling black office chair with it. that wouldn’t have made for a pretty picture so for the pics i brought in one of our kitchen chairs that we bought from ikea a few years ago. it looked much better for the photos. i couldn’t keep my kitchen chair in the guest room forever though. luckily for me i was checking out the local goodwill (the same one where i found these cane-back chairs) and found a cute little chair for a bank-breaking $6.49. i loved the shape of it but the seat needed a little help. after stopping by hancock’s and picking up a bag of batting($5.99) and a yard of muslin fabric($2.99/yd) i had a nice chair for just under $16.00. i thought about painting it red like our kitchen chair because the red looked so good with the guest room bedding. i really liked the rustic look that the chair already had though, so i decided to leave it as is.
