THE GARDEN .... A METAPHOR FOR LIFE .... by invitation ..........

The garden is an eloquent metaphor for how we move through life ..........

Life can be seen as a garden maze, sometimes the hedges are too tall to see over or, too thick to see through, with no way of knowing what lies ahead or around the corner. There is a beginning and an end but, there is also a whole lot of middle !

We need to remove the weeds from our lives .....

..... to allow the beautiful blooms space to breathe and grow. The beauty of life can be lost amongst the mundane 'weeds' of life. Stress and negativity can sometimes take over and the beauty of life can get lost.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, be it in life or in the garden. Some people like their gardens simple, as they do their lives, others like to take risks and try to grow the difficult, non-hardy plants.

As plants need support, so do we and life is always easier when there are people in our life who are there to support and help us.

When things are dark and difficult, we must try to persevere and push through.

Giving our time and hard work, will bring it's rewards .... we reap what we sow.

Put your heart and soul into everything that you do.

Take the time to smell the roses.

Each new day brings a little sunshine ....

but, we also need the rain to flourish and grow.

We cultivate our relationships like we grow flowers and vegetables ..... flowering, growing and producing.

Both bring new life into the world .....

We find pleasure and relaxation in both .....

'To forget how to dig the earth and to tend the soil is to forget ourselves'.

SNOW at ' HOME ' ...............

After telling you all that we don't get snow until at least January or February ......... look what we got today. A light dusting of snow, turning our world into a Christmas card.
I wish that I could say that this was my house but, unfortunately it's not !! This house would cost a few million !! It's about 10 minutes away and it belongs to a member of Parliament. I was going to the pub for lunch and had to stop to take this photograph as it looked so pretty. The pub is just around that corner. I got a lot of abuse from a van driver, but it was all for the love of blogging !! This was my garden this morning. My lovely statue looking all Christmassy with her snowy dress on.

................. and finally, a glimpse of Christmas at my ' Home '.

Back down the garden path..........

Just a little footnote to my last post. I think that you all might think that I haven't got a lot of colour in my garden. That's because firstly, I really like green and white gardens, with maybe a little pink. lilac and blue and secondly, my garden is north facing, therefore quite a lot doesn't grow but quite a lot does.Mainly Hostas, Ferns and green shrubs which is fortunate as I live in a Victorian house and Ferns and Hostas were very popular then ( and I like them ). That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!!!

Up the garden path..........

"Our England is a garden and such gardens are not made
By singing:- "Oh how beautiful" and sitting in the shade"
Rudyard Kipling, "The Glory of the Garden

I thought that, as we are having such a wonderful summer, you might like to see some photos of my garden.
I haven't done much gardening this week as it is too hot for anything too energetic !! Also,as you may remember, Wimbledon is on, so not a lot gets done in my house for this fortnight, but the weather is about to break and get a little cooler and Wimbledon finishes on Sunday, so, it will be back to normal and out into the garden.
