Wedding Signs

A bride-to-be contacted me about making one of my “Happily Ever After” signs for her December wedding, and I was happy to oblige.

She wanted it to look really old and rustic, so for the first time I did not use an old cupboard door for this sign.  Instead, I bought a piece of rough plywood that was knotty, uneven, and splinter-y! (I sanded the splinters off.  Or they came off in my fingers.  A little of both happened.)

I also made a “coordinating” sign for a display of family wedding pictures (what a fun idea!)…

…plus one for the hot chocolate table…

…and a couple more for other “stations” at the reception. (I love the big knothole in the middle of the “Gifts” sign.)

It was my first time making a whole wedding collection!

I guess it’s good practice for when my children start getting married off…hopefully that’s a few years away for me!

A NEW YEAR'S EVE FAMILY WEDDING, THE LONDON FIREWORKS & GUEST POSTING ..........

We are off to a family New Year's Eve Wedding today. I am so looking forward to it, as it will be lovely to be with all of our family on New Year's Eve. Must try to pace myself with the alcohol.....don't want to embarrass myself in front of everyone !!

..... and, don't forget to watch the London Fireworks that will bring in 2012 ..... for the second year running, our son, Daniel, has mixed all of the music that accompanies them. Last year the fireworks and the music were spectacular.

.... and, finally, please go over to Lou, Boo's and Shoes on New Year's Day. Her beautiful, honest and thought-provoking blog is two years old , and I am guest posting on that day, so please go over and comment and also peruse her lovely blog.... you won't be disappointed.

That just leaves me one more thing to do and that is to wish all of my supportive followers and commenter's a very Happy, Healthy and Peaceful New Year. May 2012 be filled with everything that you wish for.

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!

What Fairy Tales Are Made Of...

I had seen snippets of BHLDN, Anthropologie's new bridal line, but I had not had a chance to sit and look at it until last night...How happy does the picture above make you? Oh, and this one too...
So onto the gowns, I do love them. I think they captured the Anthropologie feel, playful but not cutesy, and just a little bit quirky.
If I had a place to wear this (and a few Gs to drop on a dress) this would be mine pronto.
Maybe my favorite for a bride...
Such sweet eyelet, how perfect for a backyard or beach wedding?
They also have accessories, hair pieces and of course shoes!
I have said before that if I could go back and change something I would wear blue shoes to my wedding, but these would be a close second...
Don't miss the bridesmaid dresses...
Have you had a chance to check BHLDN out? What do you think?
