Loving this country house, situated west of us in Normandy. Clean lines, contemporary design yet totally convincing as a family home.
I like their choice of soft grey for the ceiling beams, soft stone coloured flooring or pale wooden floors.
A pop of red brings some warmth into the beautiful and simple bathroom.
From this shot taken above the sitting room, I would guess that the property is converted from an old barn. The only inconvenience of a high ceiling in our climate, is that the room is difficult to keep warm in the winter.
The kitchen on the other hand, must be cosy with its old fashioned range. I like the simple window and half moon table set in front. The bedroom is slightly spartan, and maybe some curtains would be welcome, but I love the tall shaped bedhead.
Voila. A typical country house in deepest Normandy, where we may not have the warmest temperatures but we do have the sweet country architecture.
