Client Kitchen

 These pictures were taken in one of my favorite open spaces.  The large light fixture was a gamble but I am glad we took it.  It is a stunner when you walk into the space.

Client Kitchen

 This is a recent kitchen we gutted and redesigned.  The client has a very clean aesthetic, this kitchen looks like her (and me).  Not fussy but stunning in person thanks to gorgeous finishes.

{Kitchen Updates & an Island Reveal}

The kitchen was especially clean and all spiffy the other day when my friend Michelle came over to take some photos. So, I thought I'd share some summer time kitchens pics...
I found this dresser at an auction in the spring. I finally got around to painting it.

It fits perfectly in the kitchen as a tiny island.

And, the best part? It's completely metal. schwing!

And the rest is just eye candy, no need for me to go on babbling here.

{ Annie Sloan Green Door }

and after, with a base coat of AS green and a top coat of
a custom mixture.

The green door looks much better from my foyer now.
A while back I striped the foyer ceiling,
added burlap to the walls and wallpapered
book pages to the stair wall.

I love the green in the kitchen as well.
It looks great with the blue ceiling and mocha walls.

Another AC chalk paint project , checked off the list!

{ Breakfast room color refresher }

Hi, It's Kristie. Some of you who have been to Painted Home events might already know me, but, if you haven't, let me introduce myself.  I'm the Ambassador of Style here at The Painted Home. Haha, or in other words, I help Denise with all kinds of stuff.  Recently, Denise showed me how to write a blog post, so ta-da, here i am writing my very first blog post.
You'll see me here and there, on Facebook, on the blog, and at lot's of events with Denise.

My breakfast room was feeling kind of...blah.  It's attached to my kitchen so I wanted to keep the colors in the same pallet but lately it was just feeling boring.  I needed some color in this room.

This is how it looked before.  The table was in bad shape, the rug was stained and too small, and I didn't love the way the room was arranged.

 I bought some Annie Sloan Chalk paint in Antibes Green, Old White and Duck Egg Blue (not shown).

I first painted the entire table in the Duck Egg Blue.

I painted the top of the table Antibes Green and the bottom half the Old White.

I added some hooks (from Anthropologie) to the bottom of a windowsill.

These chippy chairs are the perfect shade of blue and I found them in my neighbors garbage.  I added a new rug in a better size for the room.

It's still a work in progress but I'm happy with the pops of color!

{ Breakfast Room }

I don't really know what to call this room on the other side side of our kitchen, so I'll call it the breakfast room.
(Sounds very Southern to me)
The entire house was clean the other day for a special event, so I thought I'd take advantage and get some fresh photos of the house while it was in this rare condition.

{ More Color in the Kitchen }

If you're a regular reader, you've seen that I'm adding lot's of color around here lately.
After a recent trip to Homegoods, I found a way to add color to our kitchen as well.
(and inexpensively too!)

These coffee mugs were the perfect addition to our Spring kitchen!
