{ What's in your Bag? Jess - East Coast Creative }

{What's in Your bag?}
East Coast Creative
So happy Jess is here to share her beach bag with us, not to mention how neatly she packs it. Take a look...

Hey there! I'm Jess from East Coast Creative (formerly The Real Housewives of Bucks County), which I co-write with my best friend Monica. We're thrilled to be here again, and LOVE this series that Denise came up with! She's super-creative, isn't she? ;) Today, I'm going to share what's in my bag, and in a few weeks, Monica will be back to share what's in hers. Ok, let's do this thing!

I just got this XXL Utility tote from Thirty-One Gifts and it is fabulous! It can hold so much stuff, and it easily collapses when I'm ready to put it away. I'm a huge fan of the nautical look, so the navy and white just stole my heart. :) My bag holds a lot of the typical summer items you need when you're a mom of two little ones: towels, swimmies, suntan lotion, toys...

Let's talk about these towels: I got the towels you see in the bag from Target last year, but just added two of these babies from Ikea to our collection. They're huge and thick and perfect. Love that price, too!

I can't get enough of this Coppertone Water Babies lotion for my kiddos- it smells like summer to me! Plus, the spray thing is just ingenious. Thank goodness some person at Coppertone understands kids and their impatience with suntan lotion.

I also always bring snacks along- mostly for myself, but sometimes I share with the kids. :) This bag is also from Thirty-One Gifts, and fits two sippy cups and lots of snacks inside.

Fresh fruit is a must!

And of course, I'm hooked on reading books on my Kindle Fire. Isn't it crazy how quickly you can have a new book in your hands, whenever you want one? It's dangerous, I tell you.

I just finished reading books 1 and 2 from the Divergent Trilogy, and it was AMAZING. I'm still thinking about them weeks after I read them. Really good read,people.

So, that's what's in my beach bag this summer! We hope you'll come on by to our little slice of blogland to check out what projects we've been tackling this summer.
Thanks so much for having me, Denise! This was so much fun!

jess

{ What's in your Bag? ~ Destiny - A Place For US }

{What's in your bag?}
A Place for Us
A Place for Us
I was so happy when Destiny agreed to be a part of my "What's in your bag? series". She's such fun girl and it really shows in her style. And, if you saw her on NATE, you know she's not afraid to belt out a little song or two, a cappella, if need be. Now that's a fun girlfriend!

Hey There! My name is Destiny and I’m the blogger behind A Place for Us! I’m a stay at home mom, turned part- time blogger! Even though you won’t find me everyday on the blog, I’m usually making a weekly appearance sharing my love of everything home! SO,sit back, relax and let me hold your hand as I give you the tools and advice you need to create YOUR home.  I’m so happy to be here guest blogging on The Painted Home! Gosh, Denise is so sweet( how lucky are you guys to have such a fun host!) and I was so happy to say yes, when she asked me to share with you guys my DREAM bag and purse essentials! So here we go!

THE BAG
Maybe it’s because I have a love for black and white stripes and shiny things, I really don’t know. But this Kate Spade bag seems perfect for me. A gal who carries everything but the kitchen sink in her bag. The bigger the better. Ok, not TO big;0)
The Essentials
There are certain things that everyone needs no matter how cute or “not so pretty” your bag is. These are my must haves!  A mini manicure set for those broken nails that ALWAYS seem to happen no matter how careful you are! Band-Aids, paper cuts are common around these parts:0) Aren’t the mustache ones adorable. My boys would love them! Hand sanitizer doesn’t replace a good hand scrubbin, but just in case you don’t have water near you, this is great! Make up bag for all those personal lady things that need to be hidden, mmmhmmmm. AZ is super hot and super dry and so are my lips! I’m always applying some sort of gloss. I love this duo my Mac! Gloss and color in one! I LOVE SHARPIES! Seriously, I don’t know what it is but they are my favorite pens. I own every.single.color. No lie:0) A Wallet of course. This one by Jessica Simpson is super cute in blue. Gum. I’m always chewing gum…lol! Even on my wedding day walking DOWN the isle. Not cute,friends, not cute. Sunglasses. They always seem like a good idea. I never seem to be able to keep up with mine. But these by Tiffany’s look darling!

The Essentials Technology
I’m a techy girl and these three things are my favorite to lug around. Camera phone, Ipad and DSLR. I’m always ready to snap a photo of YOU:0) Looks my bag is getting pretty full huh?

The Survival
Last but not least, these are the things I need to survive, with my kids! Snacks galore. At any given moment I can hear..”Mommy I’m hungry” so I always have a baggy of something. Then we have lollipops. Best thing ever. If I need them quiet or need some sort of “prize” for sitting still…lol, these work perfect! Then of course water. I need it, they need it. Wipes for any messes we make on our hands and face. I always need ponytail holders for me and my girl! Then this little gadget is a cordless charger for my cellphone. Perfect when my battery is running low and I can’t charge it! Great for emergencies too!

Hope you enjoyed my dream bag and must haves! A ladies bag seem so mysterious, right! What’s your most loved item you carry? Favorite lipgloss, gadget or snack? I want to know! Not that I need to add anything else to my bag, but I would be willing to swap it out with something else more fabulous! Thanks friends! It was so nice to meet YOU!! Come and visit me anytime! xoxo Destiny

Thanks Destiny, LOVE that chevron ipad bag.  Hmm, I see a patterned starting here with all these laddies bags!

{ What's in your Bag? Dana -Circa dee }

What's in your bag?

Profile Picture
I'm no stranger to the beach and love to hit the Jersey shore as much as possible. My beach bag will attest to that. It is perfectly sun faded pink. The bag is a classic Land's End initial canvas tote.

And that's my humble beach bungalow pictured in the background. (Just kidding!)

Let's dump it out and see what's inside...whoa!

I'm a burner so I have to layer on the SPF - both sunscreen and lip balm.

For additional protection from the sun I wear a vintage style fedora and Kate Spade aviators. I'm pretty much incognito at that point.

In my bag there is also a super soft Duke & Winston beach tee emblazoned with Cape May, my preferred beach town. The tank makes for a perfect beach cover up with some cut offs.

Can't forget some light reading material.

I just finished the memoir Blood, Bones & Butter by NY Chef Gabrielle Hamilton. It was a great read! Now I will be catching up on some girly mags.

And, of course, there's always a pile of found treasures at the bottom of my bag including shells, sea glass and driftwood that I pick up while beach combing.

Finally, I never leave home without a tennis ball (and water) for my dog Wilson. I only go to Cape May's dog friendly beaches because he loves to soak it up as much as I do.

Thanks for peeking inside my bag!

I just opened a vintage shop where I will be hosting a Beach House themed sale July 13-15. You can get your own Duke & Winston beach tee with your favorite town. Plus, vintage fedoras, beach house decor & treasures will be available. Wilson might be there too...

Thanks so much for dumpin' out your bag for us Dana. I hope you all check out Circa dee's new shop with monthly sales, I know I will be there!

{ What's in Your Bag? ~ Cassie from Primitive & Proper }

{What's in your bag?}
Primitive & Proper

Primitive & Proper
Hello Painted Home readers!  I am Cassie from Primitive and Proper and I am so excited to be here today on Denise's awesome blog!  Today, you get to take a peak into my summer beach bag, and the timing couldn't be better, because I am headed there next week, not to make you jealous or anything... ;)

So let's have a look, shall we?  First of all, this summer I am so excited to use my brand new striped beach bag!  Isn't it fun and beachy?

Now that I am in my 30's the most important thing to me is sunscreen.  As a teenager and in my early 20's I was not so careful, and I cringe at how I treated my skin.  So now, I take care of it.  I share the same sunblock as my kids with an SPF 50.  I am not taking chances here, people! We use Banana Boat SPF 50 Sport, since we go in the water and this one is water proof.

I also like to make sure I have a towel, of course.  I have an old J. Crew towel from when I used to work there years ago, but these days I would love this one from Lands End.

Another essential is a bottle of water!  We love these camelbak aluminum water bottles.  (I should add I don't actually have one, but my kids each have the kids version!)

And if my kids were not going to be with me, and it was evening, I would need this on the beach.  I am not too picky about brands, but I love organic malbecs the most!

And of course, while I am at the beach, I will need some reading materials.   I would love to read this book I have heard much about.

Divergent

I have very sensitive eyes, so I will definitely be packing my sunglasses! (self portrait)

And finally, I rarely have the chance to paint my toenails, and what better place to do it than the beach, where I will be staring at them all day!  I am a huge OPI fan and I love this pale pink in the summer when my skin is slightly tanned....

Thank you so much, Denise, for having me here today to share a look inside my beach bag!

Thank you Cassie for sharin', I knew I'd love what's in her bag as much as I love what's in her house!

{ What's in your Bag? ~ Shannon Berrey }

What's in your bag?Shannon Berrey

beach bag
I love my waterproof ikabag! It is super roomy with 10 interior pockets and the french woven cotton holds up great to all of the stuff that gets crammed inside.
The day before hitting the beach, I use this self-tanning lotion. It has a bronzer in it, so you can see where it's going. And we all know self-tanners can be real stinky, but this one seems to be one of the least offensive that I have tried.
.......................................................................
This cute number from Mudpie is the perfect cover-up. It's super light weight and is a nice length for us tall gals.
.......................................................................
Reef Official Store, REEF-1209 REEF GYPSYLOVE, shop.reef.com
My flip-flops from Reef were a Mother's Day present from my daughter and they have gotten quite the wear.
.......................................................................
.......................................................................
Deva Curl Heaven In Hair 16oz.
I have a lot of really curly hair. To give my locks a little treat before heading out to the beach, I wet my hair, slather in a load of DevaCurl and then braid it into 2 fat braids. The heat from the sun sets in the moisture and at the end of the day, my hair feels so soft!
.......................................................................
Merona® Ribbon Floppy Hat - Orange
This floppy number actually folds up nicely and further protects my hair from the sun. {Did I mention I like stripes?!}
.......................................................................
Right now I love listening to Adele, Rebecca Ferguson and Grace Potter.
.......................................................................
I hardly ever have the time to read, but I love having an opportunity to devour one of my favorite magazines.
.......................................................................
I love Clarins sunscreen for my face. It's lightweight and doesn't feel greasy. On my bod, I slather on the less expensive Coppertone Sport.
.......................................................................
My eyes are super sensitive and the sun and sand does a number on them. Eye drops go with me everywhere.
.......................................................................
My lips are just as sensitive as my eyes, so I can't wear any lipstick or sunscreen with SPF. So, instead I use Burt's Bees morning, noon and night. I have a tube everywhere. I love it, but it really doesn't offer sun protection. {if anyone has any suggestions for me, bring them on!!}
.......................................................................
My sister-in-law introduced me to these little lime lovelies in Hilton Head over Memorial Day. They are new on the market and if you love a margarita, you will be crazy about Lime-A-Rita's from Bud Light. They are small, so they fit easily in your bag :)
.......................................................................

This little sketchbook stays in my bag. I have another one that lives in my purse and yet another that stays in the car. {This should tell you something about my memory ;) } As an artist and designer, I am constantly seeing things that inspire me, whether it be a story I hear or a beautiful bird I want to remember, or an idea for a blog post! It's great to always have a handy place to document it all.

.......................................................................
There you have it--all of the goodies in my bag. Thanks for the invite, Denise! Now if you'll excuse me, I need to stuff it all back

Thanks Shannon. Now you see that not only do I want to see Shannon's house if I'm ever in North Carolina, but I'd like to have a few Bud Lime a Rita's with her as well! Love her style, and attitude. If you haven't seen her work, head over to Shannon Berrey and check out her stuff!Thanks for stopping by Shannon!
